The Cyprus Association of Private Tertiary Education Institutions (CAPTEI) was founded on 29/3/1988 by 8 private tertiary education institutions, known as colleges, registered with the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture.

The main objectives of CAPTEI for issues related to higher education and / or issues that affect directly or indirectly the member-colleges of the association are:

  • The cooperation with the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education and other agencies in Cyprus or abroad.
  • The development, promotion and improvement of higher education in Cyprus and the continuous upgrade and smooth operation of the member-colleges of the association.
  • The promotion and recognition of the education offered by the member-colleges of the association and the advantages of studying at a college.
  • The demonstration of the multilevel importance of college education in Cyprus, both financially and socially, as well as demonstrating its many political benefits.
  • To emphasize the international presence and activity of college education, as well as its contribution to the promotion of Cyprus as an international educational center.

The goals of CAPTEI are achieved through its numerous activities, which are:

  • The collection and provision of data and information related to laws and regulations, as well as the expression of opinions and submission of proposals on new and existing laws and regulations.
  • The correspondence with agencies and the issuance of announcements and press releases.
  • The representation of the members of the association in meetings / sessions / presentations / conferences with agencies in Cyprus or abroad.
  • The appearances / publications in the media (television, radio, internet appearances and writing of articles / interviews).
  • The organization, coordination and collective action of the member-colleges of the association to defend, promote and better achieve their interests.
  • The collection and provision of information to the members of the association.
